The arts have always been an important part of my life. The influence of my parents in both art and music steered me towards arts school. I dabbled in painting and photography while remaining passionate about both. Through my travels, I began to see beauty in many things, often not the obvious. Fascinated by the simplicity of a scene, the color, texture light and shadow, moving around the subject until I discover something truly different. It is this exploration that inspires me to look well beyond the surface and challenge ordinary thinking and seeing. A specular highlight, rust, long shadows, reflections, color, these are some of the things that will cause me to stop and look again. Everyday is another opportunity to see a new geometric pattern, then watch it change as I cross the street. It is a myriad of visual themes and finding beauty in all life that inherently drives me to create.
